LAGWAGON
 - Live in a Dive (Fat Wreck) First of all, though I’ve never been there, I doubt very much that the Hollywood Hard Rock Café qualifies as a dive.  That being said, this is a pretty good live record, excellent sound quality with just enough crowd noise included.  Lagwagon is a typical So-Cal punk outfit, with lots of energy and hooks, but not much edge or sense of danger.  Punk sure ain’t what it used to be.  Nobody bleeds on stage anymore, nobody smashes mic stands over the heads of audience members.  Ahh, the good old days.  Anyway, all Lagwagon’s “greatest hits” are represented here, from “Beer Goggles” to “ Island of Shame”, plus a couple of new ones.  The most entertaining part of the whole package, though, is the comic book insert, which is also available as a full size comic book. – Brian Mosher
