Are You Listening (Site) Here’s some lyrical evidence:  “It’s all starting to sound the same, like everything I say has already been sung before”.  So says Blue Background, in their song “This Time”, and they couldn’t be more right.  Everything about this disc sounds like you’ve heard it before, and didn’t like it so much the first time, either.  Imagine Sheryl Crowe singing for Hootie and The Blowfish.  This is what happens when the mainstream musical press tells kids that people like Crowe and Jewel are great songwriters.  This is what happens when kids forget that rock and roll is about rebellion and sex, and think that it’s only about making money.  This is what happens when somebody’s daddy gives them a boat-load of money to record, package and distribute a cd.  This is what happens when four teenagers from Milwaukee go to California with their Hollywood dreams, but not much else. – Brian Mosher
